State Guidelines updated on 10/15/2020.

An Important Update to Ensure Your Wellbeing

UPDATE 10/20/2020

Hawai’i has officially reopened for travel and we can’t wait to welcome you to paradise. As you prepare for your upcoming trip, please be aware that the Government of Hawai’i has announced new requirements for travelers. Please review the requirements below before you depart for your upcoming vacation to Hanalei Bay Resort.

 Mandatory Safe Travels Program

Prior to your arrival, if you are an adult (age 18 years or older) you will need to create an online user account and register with the State of Hawai’i Safe Travels Hawai‘i program. The digital online application collects health and travel information before travelers arrive at the airport. Safe Travels is one part of a multilayered screening process designed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The Safe Travels website can be found here.

  • All travelers ages five and older are required to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a certified Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) lab in order to bypass the State of Hawai’i 14-day mandatory quarantine. The test must be administered no earlier than 72 hours before your final departure (the last city you leave) before arriving at a Hawai’i airport. The State of Hawai’i will accept test results ONLY from these TRUSTED TESTING AND TRAVEL PARTNERS.
  • Once you receive your negative pre-travel test result, you will need to upload the result to your Safe Travels Hawai’i account. This step is crucial, as it will be the only means for airport officials to verify your Safe Travel Hawai’i information upon your arrival in Hawai’i.
  • You will receive an email notification 24 hours prior to your departure to Hawai’i to complete the Mandatory State of Hawai ‘i Travel and Health Formvia your Safe Travels Hawai’i account. Upon your completion of the form, a QR code will be emailed to you.
  • Upon deplaning in Hawai’i, you will be asked to present your QR code to airport personnel either on paper or on your mobile phone, along with a legally valid photo ID.
  • If your test results are not yet available when you arrive into Hawai’i, you will need to quarantine until the test results are received. If required to quarantine, travelers will not be permitted to check in to Hanalei Bay Resort and will be responsible for any related expenses that may be incurred.

Hanalei Bay Resort is committed to the health and safety of its Owners, Guests and Associates, and will follow all guidelines according to the Government of Hawai’i Executive Order.

 Checking-In at the Resort

Upon arrival at the Resort, a Guest Service Agent will ensure that the Terms of Registration have been accepted. You will be asked to provide documentation proving that all persons in your party are not subject to quarantine (i.e. your negative test results), as well as sign a written confirmation stating that neither you nor anybody in your party are subject to quarantine. Once the registration form has been completed and verification that no one in your party is subject to quarantine, you will be checked-in. If you or anyone in your party are subject to quarantine due to positive or pending test results, you will not be able to check-in. If you are concerned your test results might be positive or pending upon your arrival to the resort, we encourage you to make alternative reservations as a precaution.

In compliance with CDC and State recommendations, we are asking all Owners and Guests to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing when entering common areas of the Resort. We also encourage you to use the hand sanitizer stations that have been placed throughout the property. Large gatherings in common areas are not permitted. Should you desire more space to entertain family and friends, we are available to recommend local parks in the area.

If you experience a delay or disruption during your travels and need to speak to the Front Desk to make arrangements for late check-in, please call (808) 826-6522.
