Luaus are such a fun Hawaiian tradition for the whole family to enjoy! Since there are so many options for luaus in Kauai, we thought we would help out and highlight a few that fit every family’s wants and needs. Check out some of the options we have highlighted below and see what best fits your family’s taste!
First, there is the Luau Kalamaku. This luau provides an authentic Hawaiian luau experience for its guests. It takes place on the historic Kilohana Plantation. Arrive early and explore the grounds of the plantation before your luau starts. During the show, you can expect to see fire dancers, hula, and a story telling about the ancient people that came to this new land and made it home. The amazing buffet is filled with traditional Hawaiian food, and they even include the Imu ceremony beforehand that guests can experience as well. Packages for this luau start at $159, and they also offer a Plantation Owners Evening Luau which includes a four-course meal from the restaurant. This experience also gets you premier seating for the luau.
Another great luau option is the Smith Family Garden Luau that has been around for over 50 years! Join their Ohana and take part in a traditional Hawaiian luau with a feast that will make sure you don’t go hungry. They also celebrate traditional song and dance, as well as featuring songs and dances from other cultures in Hawaii. Prices for adults are $140, kids ages 7-13 are $35 and kids ages 3-6 are $25. Be sure to plan ahead and book your luau with a reservation for your whole group!
If you happen to be looking for an awesome fire show luau, then check out the Ahi Lele Fire Show! This newer experience is located in the Porter Pavilion, so the show goes on rain or shine. This event begins at 5:30pm and includes an amazing dinner buffet. The show will then begin at 6:45 with a spectacular fire show that is a must-see. General admission tickets are $119 and $79 for kids ages 3-12. You also have the option to purchase a VIP ticket for $139, and this includes front row reserved seating and a complimentary drink of choice!
Finally, you can experience the Luau Ka Hikina for another exciting and authentic luau. Located on the east shore, this luau is another newer show but still just as amazing! Prices start at $179 for adults, $115 for kids ages 7-13, and $75 for kids ages 3-6.
